Spares Marine - Accredited Lifejacket Servicing 
The reputation of Spares Marine’s Safe&Found team has grown year on year since they first began servicing McMurdo & Kannad Marine products over a decade ago. 
With a purpose driven move to larger premises in Spring 2022, alongside full accreditation status gained with an impressive collection of top brands, we are delighted to offer Lifejacket Servicing. 
This is great news for customers whose safety beacons have reassuringly experienced the Safe&Found touch over the years. The swift, reliable care given to EPIRBs, PLBs, MOB AIS and SART devices, now expanded to ensure confident and conscientious Lifejacket inspection and maintenance too.

How Much Will I Pay? 
Cost for a single jacket service is £13.60 inc VAT 
Shipping for the return of your jacket/s from our workshops, to a UK mainland address of your choice starts at £7.95 inc VAT.  
The price you pay will depend upon the quantity of jackets - we will advise when we receive you request for servicing. 
How Do I Get My Jacket To You? 
Fill out the form from the link above and submit it to us. 
We'll then contact you with further instructions. There are several options: 
1/ ASK US to arrange collection: 
If you would like us to collect your jacket/s from you, we can arrange this at an additional cost. (UK Mainland Only) 
Request collection via the form and we will advise pricing. 
2/ Send yourself using a COURIER 
Use a courier of your choice. We recommend that you check their policy regarding the safe carriage of single or multiple Lifejackets with CO2 canisters. 
3/ DROP OFF directly to us: 
If you are local to us, you can bring your jacket in personally and collect once the service is complete.*

Local Customers can also arrange servicing of Baltic or Seago lifejackets through us. 
* If you are intending to drop jackets to us personally, you can tell us on the form that you submit. 
We would not recommend using Royal Mail due to UK postal compliance rules and regulations.  
If, however, you are happy to have a new CO2 cylinder fitted as part of your service, you can remove the old one and safely send via Royal Mail. 
Do ensure that you use a tracked service. 
I don't live in the UK. Can I still send my jacket to you for servicing? 
Sorry, but we only service lifejackets for UK customers only. This is due to transportation safety standards.  
Contact the Customer Support for your Brand of jacket. They should help you locate your nearest Service Agent. 
What Does A Service Involve? 
Once we've received your jacket/s our qualified engineers will provide a full service, including dry air inflation and pressure testing, followed by a careful re-pack. 
Frequent parts that may need replacing include Cylinders - Auto Cartridges - Clips - Lights 
If replacement of any part other than those that are typical is deemed necessary, we will contact you with a revised price prior to commencement. 
Once a service is completed we issue a 1 year certificate of conformity, dependant on use, and return your jacket to you via our trusted courier partners. 
I have an MOB device fitted in my Jacket - Can you change the batteries in that too? 
We are accredited agents for ACR, Kannad, McMurdo & Ocean Signal. 
We can change the batteries in your MOB at an additional cost, just ask.  
Any MOB devices within a jacket upon arrival here are inspected, tested and re-fitted at no extra charge. 
What If My Jacket Fails Inspection? 
In this instance, we will let you know, along with details of the specific factors leading to a failed test result.  
A failed test will incur a handling / labour / report fee of £3.60 inc VAT. 
You will not be charged for a failed test if you upgrade to a new jacket through us. 
NB: If you ask us not to return a failed jacket, we will consider this an instruction to dispose of it on your behalf. You can of course pay for the return of your jacket - it's entirely up to you. 
Can I Buy A New Lifejacket from Spares Marine? 
We can offer preferential discount upgrade options against Crewsaver and Mullion (Commercial) single chamber jackets.  
How Long Will I Be Without My Jacket? 
Once with us, servicing usually takes around 2-5 days. (Dependent upon quantity and any remedial work required) 
Always let us know if you require your jacket/s for an imminent sailing date or inspection. 
What sort of Certification Do You Have? 
Our Safe&Found Servicing Team hold full accreditation for the following brands: 
Mullion (Single Chamber) 
Kru / Remploy 
Ocean Safety 
If you have a safety beacon that requires servicing, we can undertake this at the same time.
